Many times a client will present a problem that could be described in many different ways, but often at the root it's to do with confidence, or better put, the lack of it!
Nowadays so many people seem to be in the grip of various anxieties and fears, large or small. The one secret weapon that can wear down these troubles is to build self confidence.
One of the most evident ways in which clients notice a lack of confidence in their lives is the quality of what they say to themselves. Too often so many of us are telling ourselves that I can't do this, I can't do that. I'll never succeed .I ame going to fail . Nothing ever goes right . What's the point? Why bother? . On and on, over and over it feels like being overwhelmed by a wave of negativity.
Then our bodies start to respond to this self talk - physical sluggishness, laziness, lackof vitality go in tandem with the mental torpor.
With hypnotherapy it becomes easier to change both the quality of thoughts and their baneful influence by the power of suggestion. This is not just positive thinking or repeating affirmationsone might not really believe. It is using more than just words. Imagery, visualising and metaphors have the amazing capacity to genuinely change mindsets from negative to more open and optimistic. Consider how from childhood we are moved, amazed,entranced by stories - they can remain with us, often for life.
I like to employ metaphor and imagery within hypnosis to gently guide clients to a more helpful way of thinking about themselves - i.e. to be more self-confident
